From Past to Future
The history of our business begins in the early 30s, at the time in the road infrastructure (railways and roads) and airport runways. In the 70s (studies and research started at the end of 1968) an activity was started in the field of environmental engineering and then we became interested in that of Earth Observation (OdT)
Oil for Space
The company, in collaboration with leading industries in both oil and earth observation, provides innovative solutions for the development of countries with untapped natural resources.
Cutting-edge technologies
We use the latest innovative technologies for environmental / structural surveys
LEARtd – From Past to Future
The story of our business begins in the early 1930s, at the time of road infrastructure and airport runways.

In the ’70s we started our venture in environmental engineering which later led to Earth Observation (Osservazione della Terra).

In the early 1990s, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, we partnered with Russian companies to acquire and use satellite data for Earth Observation (OdT) with civilian application, giving birth to LEARsat.

All the experiences and the many human, technological and industrial resources were then grouped into our LEARtek which in turn coordinates and manages the various companies.

LEARtek comprises many technological, industrial and human resources as well as.

Among the tasks, LEARtek looks for new or prospective ventures and indicates the financial devices necessary to carry them out.

Oil for Space
Based on the technological and scientific experiences of our company and ACSys – with the scientific collaboration of COSPAR and Prof. Giovanni F. Bignami (who unfortunately passed away in 2017) and other university and institutional excellences – an offer was presented to the Ministry of Hydrocarbons (MinHydro) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for the supply of satellite gravimetry data and others for the census and economic evaluation of the oil fields of the said area Couvette Central, c. one million km² [square km].

Our Company has also proposed to the DRC the financing of the entire operation (foreseen in the invitation to tender), with an investment of several hundred million USD (to be confirmed), to be recovered from the exploitation of an oil field given under concession.

For this venture, our Company has established agreements with oil companies and business banks.

The difference between the remuneration of our work and the monetization resulting from the deposit under concession, excluding what is due to the oil company, the part due to the DRC (several billion USD) will be used to allow us to build infrastructure for the development of the country.

Despite being the first results in the technical-scientific offer, the sharp drop in the oil price in 2014 led to the non-remuneration of the project and everything remained outstanding.

Operating sections
The main areas LEARtek focuses on are energy, environment and supporting LEARsat with Earth Observation.
Already in the late 1970s, in Rome, near the water treatment plant of Rome-Ostia we started working with digesters with methane recovery, then used to create electricity.
In the 1980s, we did maintenance works in the ENEL nuclear power plants, which led to studies into new waste disposal systems in 1992, birthing “plasma” technology.
Also, in the 1980s we won a 20-year contract to build and run a thermonuclear power plant powered by the refuse of Stratford, CT (USA).
We were commissioned to design a Thermocompression urban waste treatment plant in the ‘90s.
Earth Observation has created a project in collaboration with Telespazio on issues related to territory control.
With the MiraGeo project, territory control becomes an integrated system of multi-levelled detection based on a combination of data from different satellite detectors.
It is now possible to compare the new data to the old from old military satellites. This new monitoring system has a broader flexibility than is required.
To this day, this system continues to be used for:
-  verifying of unauthorized buildings;
-  verifying and surveying hydro-geological activity
-  mapping of coastal erosion and weather forecasting
-  analysing river networks

Using renewable resource activities from the 70s, we built a digester in a water treatment plant that released methane and used it to produce electricity.
In the late 70s began picking up projects in renewables such as digesters that extract methane and used it to power generators. In 2019 we picked up again with wind turbine and solar panel projects and we are studying the possibility to make geothermal plants.

University Collaborations
This business has expanded even into the most avant-garde technology and scientific research and continues to collaborate with universities, Italian and across the globe.

Project ViVA – Federico II of Napoli to obtain vegetable oils – from algae – for Diesel motors, other than numerous economic advantages, is also important for the absorption of CO2 in large quantities by the algae as they grow.

University di Tor Vergata of Roma for research into CO2 trapping to then be used as building material inside stone.

Calidarium Project - Deep Geothermal a project to have infinite energy availability (on a human level) with zero emissions and continuous production.
